Baby Gush

One week from today we'll be adding baby boy #3 to our family, with that in mind, I thought I would try and squeak out another 'hi there' from the knitting world.
I had this coming home hat and booties made for awhile now, however I recently rounded out the set with a blanket and a super cute hippo onesie from my best friend. I can't wait to have it all on him, snuggling him close and bringing him home!!

Everything in his room is soft and sweet!

The cozy blanket

And a cute hippo :)

And a fun peek of the room (at least the tissue box cover is knitted!)

It's been WAY too long!

It has been too long since I've blogged about the knitting going on in my world (8 months, really?!?). And it's taken me at least a year to finish up the garden vegetables that I started making for my oldest son over a year ago. However, today ends a chapter of waiting as I made the last vegetable in my book. It is an open pea pod, and like all the other vegetables made, it's too cute for words!

Too bad our actual garden isn't turning out peas like this yet!

If you missed my previous post about last years harvest and my sons love for all knitted garden vegetables, you can find it here.

Harvest

We are enjoying a wonderful harvest this summer, I hope you are too. Here are some of our favorites we've enjoyed from our garden.

Garlic

Cucumbers

Carrots

And tomatoes

We are still waiting for our peas to be ready to pick, but as you can see below, we are enjoying the ones we have 'picked' so far!

(we love them so much, we insist on sleeping with them!)

Team USA

In honor of the Summer 2012 olympics, I have some cute patriotic hats to share with you. And while they aren't the traditional color scheme, they do show their team spirit.

And if you've been following my last several posts, I'm sure you can tell I'm into stripes right now. Obviously!

A Joyous Return

I'm back! And although it will be a slow progression to be 100% back, it feels great to be doing what I love to do once more, even if sporadic at times.

About two weeks ago, both children were napping (the 1st time this had happened!!!!) and I found myself with a clean kitchen and nothing to do. Could this be?!? Could I really be able to enjoy nap time the way it was meant to be enjoyed, crafting?!? Low and behold, it was true and I dived right in.

The next problem quickly arose, what to make? I found this little gem of a pattern and knew it would be perfect for nap time. (Reasons a craft is 'perfect' for nap time 1. I have all the needed supplies in my possession already 2. It isn't too involved 3. I can finish it the day I start it)

Here is the end result, several (I could only make one per nap time) very cute cupcakes for upcoming birthday presents. I love sharing my craft!

Hot out of the oven!

We brought the baby home!

Here is my quick follow up to my previous post Bringing Home Baby. The baby is home!! He is almost 1 month old and we are learning the in's and out's of parenting 2 children. We are slowly settling into a routine (and some the days the routine is no routine at all, gotta love a newborn!). But most days are pretty good.

Since blogging will be spotty for me in the next couple of months, I thought I would take these 5 minutes I had of 'down time' (ya right!) to post a little something. Here is the baby in the coming home outfit, he sure is cute!!

What a blessing he is!!

Easter Eggs

This Easter season I was very fortunate to have my friend Melissa share with me a very cute pattern for making Easter eggs. They were very quick to knit up and the pattern was easy to follow (two things that are always a plus in knitting!).
I made two sets, one in pastels.

And the other in bright spring colors.

They have been a HUGE hit with my son! Once he figured out that I was making them for him, I heard nothing but 'please egg' while I was making them. He loves collecting things and has been carrying them around with him since I started them. He takes them in and out of his Easter basket, hours of entertainment!!

The spring colors are inspiring me for nicer weather, hasn't the weatherman gotten the hint yet?!?

But no matter what the weather, I wish you all a very nice Easter weekend.
