Knit a Sweater!
For awhile now, I have thought about making a sweater. The task seemed daunting to me and so I've been putting it off for, well let's face it, years. As mentioned in a previous post, I now have a very cute little model of my own. And he's not only good for modeling, but for inspiring me to make something new. So, in a moment of boredom I started a sweater pattern that I have had for a few months now.
It started out fine knitting long row after long row, all the while making sure to count my rows finished, but my patience quickly gave way and I was getting annoyed with it taking me A WEEK to make. There were many pieces to knit; a back, a front, two sleeves, left side of hood, right side of hood & the trim that frames the face on the hood. It was a lot of separate pieces to knit. The pattern turned out well, but I know there is an easier pattern out there for knitting a sweater!
While this project took way to long for me, I am a person that has to finish something before I can move onto something else. I do not like to leave things unfinished, so I pushed through and now I am FINALLY done!! And here is the cute finished project & my afore mentioned model.
As I'm sure you can tell, it is VERY hard to not make something when you have someone this cute to put it on when you are done.
Now that I am on the other side of the 'have you ever knitted a sweater?' question, it feels very much like when I answered the question with a 'no'. My advice to you, only do it if you have time and if you want to just be able to say that you've knitted a sweater. Now that I can add it to my 'Things I have made list', I am excited to finally move onto something else.
